Hello! I'm Amberly,
I'm an illustrator turned multidisciplinary designer from Virginia, driven by a lifelong passion for design spanning 15 years.
As an INTJ and 1w9, I prioritize sustainability, inclusive design, and compassion in both my life and design work.
In my free time, I enjoy connecting with people, creating art in all forms, writing fantasy novels, and capturing unique moments through photography while traveling the world.

My Journey
Find out how I got to where I am.
2008
I went door-to-door with my first custom business cards for my first company FFA (Future Famous Artists) advertising art lessons when I was eight.
2013
After 10k followers on my art Instagram @Pencil_works, my art 'hobby' transformed into a custom art and illustration business. The same year, I illustrated my first children's book after speaking at a writer's conference. I then found a love for design when redesigning an old Comcast TV remote I was annoyed with.
2016
I entered my first art and first FIRST robotics competition, boosting my love for both art and engineering.
2018
I graduated high school with honors, earning seven Scholastic Gold Keys for fine art and photography. I received a scholarship to Liberty University's School of Graphic Design and discovered Industrial Design during an internship with a local inventor who believed it was my calling.
2019 - 2021
After switching my career path from Graphic Design to Industrial Design, I transferred to Virginia Tech. During my first year at VT, I secured a internship at GSK, gaining experience in UX/UI and professional Industrial Design projects. In my first three years, I served as an Administrative Design and Office Assistant working on graphic design and branding projects. I was also honored with a Excellence in Design award from Virginia Tech.
2022
My studio team was awarded a Global Innovation Award at IHA's International Convention in Chicago for product "Mosaic" where I was lead visual and graphic designer. I was also awarded the Industrial Design Diversity and Inclusion Award by Virginia Tech. In July, I joined Unilever's design team in Connecticut as a Design Co-Op.
2023
I extended my co-op with Unilever for 6 months, enhancing the 2D and 3D accessibility of their products globally, particularly impacting brands such as Dove and Radox. This effort and continued achievement earned me another Excellence in Design Award from Virginia Tech. In May 2023, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors, earning a B.S. in Industrial Design from Virginia Tech.
Present
Returned to my dream of freelancing full-time on a contract-basis, creating graphic and visual design work globally, while always looking for opportunities to design on a larger scale.
To be continued... ;)
